What is going on? It’s been a while! I know that my last post was a Life Lately bit, and I’m afraid this post is just about the same. I’ve actually been up to way more interesting things than usual, given that it has been a long time since I’ve updated this blog. If you’ve kept up and in touch with me through Twitter, you’ll know what’s been keeping me occupied. Or, maybe not? I don’t know. At any rate, here’s what’s been happening and why I haven’t been on here for quite some time.
I’ve been freelancing/remote working like there’s no tomorrow.
I secured a long-term contract with a really reputable and long-standing company in the US. I’m not entirely sure if I’m allowed to mention the company’s name, I should probably ask, but the work deals with biographical writing mostly for public figures. I’ve also been collaborating on blog management and article writing with a startup based in China. On the side, I’ve got a few gigs writing travel articles for companies based in the Netherlands, Austria, and the UK. It’s been a hectic and really exciting month!
I’ll be traveling again soon!
I won’t say where yet, but I’m pretty excited! I was initially traveling for volunteer work but had some miscommunication with the organization I was working with. Needless to say, it didn’t work out how I wanted. However, I do plan to volunteer again sometime in the future! Despite that though, I didn’t want to let my plane ticket go to waste so I’m still hopping on a plane in a little more than 6 weeks to one of my favorite places on Earth! Eek!!
I said no to China.
I received an admittance letter from the university I studied at last year in China. However, I decided not to go back. I felt so sad when I wrote to the head teacher that I decided not to attend, she wrote back saying she hopes to meet again which just broke my heart into a million little pieces! The teachers and students at the camp were all around the same age. So we all got so close. Sigh. Someday. I feel like the experience I had last year was one of a kind, and that the kind of people I met are impossible to replace! I do hope to go back to China again, but I want it to be another unique experience with its own memories.
I purchased 4 domains…
…and I started laying the foundation for my first business. My Tiger Mom rejoiced! Lol just kidding about that Tiger Mom bit. Anyway, I realized that there was this demographic that just wasn’t being talked about, reached out to, or even thought of in terms of studying/traveling/working abroad. I really hope to shed some light on them and hope that the world understands how valuable they are. Got any idea what this venture could be? You’ll just have to stick around…for the next few years. Heh.
How have you been?
