The Book of Questions 001

If you were able to live to the age of ninety and retain either the body or the mind of a thirty year old for the last sixty years of your life, which would you choose?

Body, because the mind of a thirty year old has less wisdom. And, even if you have to live with the same body for the last sixty years of your life, you can still expand your mind. You could maybe even reform it.

Do you prefer being around men or women? Do your closest friends tend to be men or women?

My closest friends are more often women, but I didn’t plan that. It just came about that way. I don’t prefer being around men or women. I think we can all learn from each other. Why box ourselves in and limit what we can learn about life?

If you went to a dinner party and were offered a dish you had never tried, would you want to taste it?

Duh. Have you met me? Do you know me? Do you want to know me? Because I like all the foods.

If you could choose the manner of your death, what would it be?

I want to be asleep. When I die, I would want to be at peace with myself and everyone in my life.

This blog series takes and answers questions from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, PhD.

  1. I found myself in a company of mix men and women – especially in college where I’m in a school that 70% male, 30% female (based from my estimate). It’s really fun to be friends with both sexes but I am more wary of boys now because of the stories my boy friends are telling. True story. As for the manner of my death, I agree with your answer. I just want to go as peaceful as possible.

    • It’s just really fun (and good) to be friends with everyone! I like having open and understanding relationships with all of my friends.

  2. I want to be asleep, too, when I die. It’s more peaceful. That’s how my maternal grandfather died, and he seemed to be just in deep sleep.

    • Yeah, I just want to have a really good day, feel happy about everything and then just go to bed. I, of course, want to also be really, really old but either way be at peace. 🙂

  3. I don’t have many guy friends but it would be cool to have a group of guy friends. I think it would be interesting asking advice from their point of view.

    • I don’t have very many guy friends either; I think I have maybe one good guy friend. The other guys I’m friends with are either mutual friends or someone from high school who I see in passing every now and then. It would be really nice to get their perspectives on things that I already know my girl-friends’ opinions on.

  4. Back i college most my closest friends are men because my course in under the Eng’g building and you know, there are more men in Eng’g. That’s the time I let go of my fear of men. Not really fear as in fear, it’s just that I’ve never been comfortable with men. It was a blessing in disguise because I finally get along with both men and women. Both are different, and you can learn different things from them 🙂 So it’s not easy to choose! Haha

I also like food! I even told myself that if there’s a chance I can eat exotic ones, I would. Haha

    • I don’t even know if it counts as exotic but I ate isaw (chicken intestines) for the first time a few years ago in the Philippines! hahaha But I don’t think I’ll eat it again. I’m a firm believer that you should try everything once to know if you really like it or not, and so you can say that you’ve tried it!

      • I think it’s not that exotic anymore because it has been one of the favorites in the Philippines. I love isaw! Haha have you tried balut? I don’t likt balut haha

        • Lol then isaw is probably exotic to other Americans, but not me because I’m Fil-Am haha. I only like the soup from balut.

  5. I find most my company to be guys — then again, I’ve been hanging around with guys since middle school with video games and animes being our common link. Even at work, I tend to get along with my male co-workers than the female ones. But I do have some good female friends, too, but lately, it’s been very male-oriented.

    And like you, I want to die in my sleep, surrounded by my loved ones. But knowing my luck, I’ll die alone, haha XD;

    • I played some video games and watched anime but I was drawn to it first because of my older cousin, who is a girl. But now that I think of it, growing up, I’ve always been surrounded by women. I have 5 aunts, most of my cousins are girls, and Alaska apparently has a 2:1 ratio for women to men haha
